In the four prioritized domains, we are leading when it comes to valorization in Brainport and beyond. We collaborate with leading academic institutions, businesses, civil society organizations and citizens in multi- and transdisciplinary settings. Our campus is open; we share our facilities and exchange knowledge and staff. We actively involve our alumni in bringing different perspectives, competencies, experiences and investments to our innovation ecosystems. 

In the coming years, we will focus on:

  • co-creation with society, mainly through our institutes;
  • realizing an open campus that promotes collaboration;
  • and the development of an entrepreneurship ecosystem by creating a Knowledge Transfer Office. 

When we set out our , we recognized that the world around us changes rapidly, and that our ambitions need to evolve in response. In the Institutional Plan 2026-2030, we reaffirm our commitment to lead the change for a better world: educating responsible engineers, empowering academics and professionals, advancing global scientific knowledge, and driving impactful, sustainable innovation in the Brainport ecosystem and beyond.

We are among the global frontrunners in academic collaboration with industry. Founded in 1956 at the request of the region’s high-tech industry, ºÚÁϸ£ÀûÍø has been at the heart of the Brainport Eindhoven innovation ecosystem for decades. This close collaboration not only drives societal impact and knowledge transfer but also contributes to economic growth.

Achieved in 2020-2025 – Supporting entrepreneurs through The Gate

To better support entrepreneurs, we have joined forces with Brainport by establishing The Gate, a central hub for technology-driven start-ups in the Brainport ecosystem. At The Gate, dedicated advisors provide guidance on housing, financing, training, coaching, and collaboration for entrepreneurial students, scientists, and tech start-ups, helping them prepare for take-off.  In addition to The Gate, we will set up a KTO a as partner in valorization to further strengthen our support for innovation and entrepreneurship.

Achieved in 2020-2025 – Campus 2030

The Campus 2030 program is transforming our campus to a vibrant, green and attractive hotspot for students, researchers, entrepreneurs and companies. Renovations of Neuron, Gemini, Vector and the Student Sports Center - now open to our community - along with the completion of innovative new student housing on campus, are making our campus an integral part of Eindhoven, creating a welcoming, inspiring environment for all.

The transition to renewable energy systems, despite challenges from net congestion, demonstrates our commitment to sustainability and future readiness. Furthermore, the GENIUS battery pack, manages net capacity with local partners, and showcases our campus as a living lab for innovation.
