Sustainability in Operations

About Sustainability in Operations

We want to enable and encourage our students and employees to adopt a healthy lifestyle and create a buoyant culture of compassion, well-being, equality and social engagement for everybody and acts as a home away from home. The ºÚÁϸ£ÀûÍø campus is being transformed into a designated area where walking, cycling and public transport are stimulated. Within our operations, we aim at healthy materials and raw materials which we can reuse endlessly within a circular process. Our green campus contributes to the preservation and enhancement of the quality of life for humans and animals while our events follow a strict Sustainability Policy

Sustainable Campus Roadmap | Ambition, direction and responsibility

The Sustainable Campus 2030 Roadmap outlines the ambitions and objectives of the Campus & Facilities department for the coming years. These objectives provide direction for our policies and investments, while demonstrating how sustainability is being integrated into our buildings, campus grounds and facility services.

At the same time, we recognise that achieving these ambitions depends on a range of factors, including available resources, legislation and regulations, technological developments, and how students and staff use the campus.

By openly sharing this roadmap, we aim to demonstrate our commitment to taking responsibility, making our progress transparent, and learning from experience. In doing so, we continue to work together towards a future-proof and sustainable campus, in line with our CORe values.

Erwin Kerkhof has been working on Sustainable Operations for over 7 years and is also the GO Green Office Coordinator.

I work on our dynamic campus, a vibrant mini-society where I have the freedom to make a real impact. Every day, I navigate a fast-moving environment filled with fresh ideas and young minds that bring energy and innovation. I love working across diverse fields of sustainability— from vitality to mobility, from energy to biodiversity— and collaborating with enthusiastic, ambitious colleagues gives me a huge boost. Working with students keeps me young and sharp, constantly challenging me with fresh perspectives. The best part of my job is seeing how small ideas can spark real change, shaping the campus in meaningful ways. If you’re curious about my work or have an idea to share, let’s connect!
