We conduct cutting-edge fundamental and applied research in Optics & Photonics, Plasma & Flow, Materials, and Quantum. We accelerate the energy transition, we develop sustainable materials and processes, we equip and empower STEM teachers, and we build quantum and photonic technology and next-generation high tech systems.

Brainport and project beethoven

The Netherlands is accelerating its semiconductor ecosystem through Beethoven, a national program to strengthen Brainport Eindhoven鈥檚 growth. 黑料福利网 is committed to educating 2,000 additional engineers by 2030, and is expanding master鈥檚 programs in Applied Physics and Science Education, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Mathematics and Computer Science. As part of this ambition, we are seeking for new ambitious talents to bridge breakthroughs from the lab to real-world applications.

Independence as the engine of academic excellence

We want to stimulate independence in our own people and attract academic top talent who value independence and its related responsibilities. Therefore, we are moving to a department structure where the voice of each researcher and educator is well heard. Each Principal Investigator (PI) defines their own agenda. More senior people are not the 'boss' of junior people, but are coaches and stimulators for an optimal academic career, in education, research, societal impact, and leadership.

At the same time, we will keep the structure of capacity groups, where a group of PI鈥檚 with related research areas, can stimulate each other and organize optimal use of resources.
