UMC 2026 – Abstract submission

Call for abstracts

Abstract submission starts on March 23, 2026.

The submission deadline has been extended to May 12, 2026, at 17:00 CET (and will not be extended any further).

Submission guidelines

  • You need to create an account before starting the submission process.
  • Maximum of two (2) submitted abstracts per presenting author. This maximum will be checked automatically during the online submission process, based on email address, but will be verified after the deadline manually as well.
  • One or two topics are asked for each submission. These will be primarily used for the reviewing process. Feel free to use “None / other” as second choice in case you consider that a second topic is not applicable. If you consider none of the topics being applicable for your submission, use “None / other” for both choices.
  • You can choose between presentation as “oral”, “poster” or “oral or poster”. Only in the latter case, a submission will be considered for poster if not selected as oral. Reviewers will NOT be informed about whether an abstract is submitted as “oral” or “oral or poster”, so it will NOT affect the selection process.
  • During the submission process, the role of the various authors can be modified using the toggle-buttons in the relevant input panel. It can be modified at anytime later, as long as it is not yet submitted.
  • Time slots for contributed oral presentations will be 20 minutes in total (15 minutes + 5 minutes for questions).
  • The author starting up the submission process will be automatically considered to act as main (corresponding) author. You can choose another author to be the presenting author.
  • During the submission process, the role of the various authors can be modified using the toggle-buttons in the relevant input panel. It can be modified anytime later, as long as it is not yet submitted.
  • The order of authors can be changed after having inserted all of them; you can do so by a drag-and-drop method.
  • You can safely interrupt your submission process without actively saving preliminary input. Data will be saved automatically after completion of each input panel, and the submission process can be continued later.
  • Only PDF abstracts are accepted. A LaTeX and Word template with mandatory layout rules can be downloaded at the end of this page.
  • Check your input carefully before submission; it cannot be changed anymore after submitting. In case of issues discovered later, please contact us at .

Abstract templates

  • Abstracts (both oral and poster) should fit on one page (including a possible figure and possible references) and be prepared according to the mandatory guidelines mentioned in the LaTeX and Word templates below. We highly recommend you to use the LaTeX template as that will result in the most consistent output.
  •  Before submission, convert your abstract to PDF.
  •  The Word template can be downloaded here:
