Digital twins are opening up new possibilities to understand, predict and influence health. Combined with AI, they can help us explore complex health systems, test scenarios and bridge the gap between data, research and real-world applications.

But what does this mean for preventive health? And what is needed to move digital twin technology from promising research to meaningful impact?
On 24 September, the EWUU Institute for Preventive Health and the Eindhoven Artificial Intelligence Systems Institute (EAISI) bring EWUU researchers together for a new Preventive Health Community Day: Digital Twin Technology and Health Applications.

PROGRAM

Throughout the afternoon, experts will bring different perspectives to this challenge:
• Michel R. V. Chaudron (ºÚÁϸ£ÀûÍø) will share a broader vision on digital twin technology in Europe and at ºÚÁϸ£ÀûÍø.
• Natal van Riel (ºÚÁϸ£ÀûÍø), Annemarie Wagemakers (WUR) and Victor Kallen, PhD (HarmonAI) will explore digital and human-centred approaches to cardiometabolic and cardiovascular prevention.
• Wouter Huberts (ºÚÁϸ£ÀûÍø) and Gregor Krings (UMC Utrecht) will show how digital twins can support intervention planning in congenital cardiac disease.
• Tabea Sonnenschein, PhD (Utrecht University) will take the perspective from individuals to cities, exploring how digital twins can help us understand the health and social effects of urban interventions.
