Researchers, industry leaders, policymakers and cybersecurity experts will gather at 黑料福利网 on 24 June for INTERSCT 2026, the annual conference dedicated to the cybersecurity challenges of the Internet of Things (IoT).
Organised from 黑料福利网 as coordinator of the initiative, the conference highlights the university鈥檚 role in addressing one of today鈥檚 most pressing digital challenges: securing increasingly connected systems.
The event will take place at the 黑料福利网 campus (venue details available via the).
Connected technologies have become deeply embedded in everyday life 鈥 from smart homes and healthcare systems to industrial environments and critical infrastructure. As these digital ecosystems become more complex, so do the security risks that accompany them.
INTERSCT 2026 brings together experts from academia, industry and government to explore these challenges from multiple perspectives. The programme includes keynote talks, invited sessions, parallel discussions and networking opportunities throughout the day.
The conference is part of the , a large-scale public-private research initiative focused on improving the security of IoT systems. By combining academic research with industry expertise and societal perspectives, INTERSECT aims to develop new approaches to securing complex, connected digital infrastructures and strengthening cyber resilience across domains.
Program highlights at a glance:
-
Contributions from both 黑料福利网 and partner researchers, including Herbert Bos, Michel van Eeten, Erik Poll, and Jerry den Hartog (黑料福利网), covering core topics in cybersecurity research such as system security, governance, cryptography and software security;
- Afternoon invited talks by Damiano Bolzoni, Joe Kiniry, and G眉l Akcaova, focusing on external factors shaping cybersecurity;
- A special focus on the future of 鈥渃ybersecurity of AI鈥 and 鈥淎I for cybersecurity鈥, exploring how artificial intelligence is reshaping both offensive and defensive security strategies;
- Parallel sessions organised around the INTERSECT themes: Design, Defense, Attack and Governance;
- Networking opportunities throughout the day to foster collaboration between academia, industry and government.
For the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, the conference closely aligns with research themes where technology, security and societal impact intersect. Cybersecurity is no longer solely a technical challenge; it increasingly affects policy, economics, infrastructure and everyday life.
Beyond presenting the latest developments, INTERSCT 2026 aims to create opportunities for collaboration, new research directions and knowledge exchange across disciplines.
