Women in Science Week at ºÚÁϸ£ÀûÍø
The second week of February 2025 marked Women in Science Week at ºÚÁϸ£ÀûÍø, and we celebrated in many inspiring ways! For example, we launched a new online video series 'Driven by Challenges', where we follow 5 women determined to make the world more sustainable with their innovative technologies. We also looked back on 5 years of our 'Irene Curie Fellowship program' to equalize the balance between male and female scientists.

Meet at least 50 new inspiring scientist and expand your network
This event was all about connection. A strong network can help you tremendously as a woman in science. One of the event’s highlights was a speed-dating session where you could meet and engage with inspiring women from various fields.
Marina van Damme Grant
During the event, we also highlighted the impact of the prestigious , a €9,000 scholarship for talented female alumni of ºÚÁϸ£ÀûÍø who have completed a master’s degree, PhD, or EngD program. The grant supports activities such as broadening knowledge or gaining international experience through study or internships.
Keynote by Tila Pronk
, Associate Professor of Social Psychology at Tilburg University, delivered the keynote. Tila received her PhD with honors and was named 'Teacher of the Year' in 2022. She is the author of the popular science books 'Hartstocht' and 'Love Changes', and she is known for her appearances on the TV show 'Married at First Sight'.
Who could join?
This meet-up event was open to everyone who feels connected to the theme of women in science and diversity, regardless of gender, background, or role. We warmly welcomed all our guests.

Silvia Lenaerts, Rector Magnificus of Eindhoven University of Technology, and , Director Business Management and Technology and Applied Science of Fontys, opened the event and warmly welcomed the guests.
15h10 | Driven by Challenges
A new series of 'Driven by Challenges' was introduced, where five women dedicated to making the world more sustainable through their innovative technologies have been followed.
15h20 | Keynote
, Associate Professor of Social Psychology at Tilburg University
Tila explained in her lecture how it is that in this day and age, when we are constantly in touch with each other, it is still harder than ever to feel connected. But also how you yourself can bring more love into your life, and into the lives of others.
15h50 | Marina van Damme Grant: Impact Story
, a previous winner of the prestigious Marina van Damme Grant, shared her personal journey and how receiving the award has positively impacted her career.
16h00 | Speed-dating sessions
Our female role models were ready to connect with you. Every 10 minutes our guests moved on to another table. After 5 rounds, they have met at least 50 women from science.
