Prof.dr.ir. Rianne Appel-Meulenbroek was appointed part-time professor of Corporate Real Estate and Workplace Management at the Department of the Built Environment at Eindhoven University of Technology (黑料福利网) on August 1, 2025. She will deliver her inaugural lecture on Thursday, June 11, 2026.

Beyond Spaces: Towards Human Centric, Data Driven and Sustainable Workplace Futures

About the lecture
In her inaugural lecture, Professor Appel鈥慚eulenbroek will explore how workplaces profoundly shape human well鈥慴eing, behavior, performance and organizational outcomes, arguing that the environments in which we work are no longer static backdrops but dynamic ecosystems that influence individuals, teams and organizations in measurable ways. She will show that today鈥檚 societal, technological and environmental challenges demand a new, transdisciplinary approach to workplace science. Drawing from two decades of research and international collaboration, she will discuss why workplace decision鈥憁aking falls short and how evidence鈥慴ased, explainable and human鈥慶entered models can guide organizations toward healthier, more inclusive and more adaptable work environments. The lecture will present examples from recent research, illustrating how organizations can translate data and scientific insight into decisions that help both people and systems thrive in a rapidly changing world.
