According to research, young people are becoming increasingly anxious about climate change, sustainability, wars, and political upheavals. Higher education must respond to this, and both challenge-based learning (CBL) and problem/project-based learning (PBL) have potential, although more work is needed to integrate e.g., risk management, interdisciplinarity, transdisciplinarity, and the development of individual as well as team resilience.

This is one of the key points in a new book, Engineering Education and Interdisciplinary Prospects: Problem- and Project-Based Learning for a Chaotic World by Anette Kolmos, Professor in PBL and Engineering Education at Aalborg University. In this lecture, Anette will look at the difficulties and changes that are required to prepare engineering students to live in and with a complex and chaotic environment.

This event is open to teachers and professional staff; registration is free and can be done . Free lunch and drinks will also be available to those attending in person.
