What challenges do students take on when given the freedom to explore?
On Wednesday 27 May, between 12:30 and 15:00 in the Atlas building, everyone is welcome to visit the ºÚÁϸ£ÀûÍø Contest Exhibition showcasing this year's ºÚÁϸ£ÀûÍø Contest participating teams.
What are engineering students working on outside their regular courses, and what challenges do they choose to take on when given the freedom to explore? The ºÚÁϸ£ÀûÍø Contest Exhibition offers the ºÚÁϸ£ÀûÍø community a glimpse into that.
A CHANCE TO ENGAGE AND SHARE EXPERTISE WITH INNOVATIVE PROJECTS
Visitors of the exhibition get to know what the ºÚÁϸ£ÀûÍø Contest is and browse projects across four themes rooted in the domains for technology leadership from the ºÚÁϸ£ÀûÍø Institutional Plan 2026–2030: Energy Technologies, Digital Technologies, Health Technologies, and Advanced Materials/Miscellaneous. The posters offer a real insight into what the next generation of engineers is curious about and what challenges they are taking on.
Input and feedback from people both inside and outside the ºÚÁϸ£ÀûÍø community is warmly welcomed. Therefore, during the event there will be feedback cards are available, giving visitors the opportunity to share thoughts, questions, or suggestions with the teams. The cards can be dropped in the blue ºÚÁϸ£ÀûÍø Contest post boxes and will be passed on directly to the team behind each poster.
Before leaving the exhibition, visitors are invited to cast their vote for the Best Poster Award (€1,000); the one award in the ºÚÁϸ£ÀûÍø Contest 2026 that gives the audience a direct way to make an impact. The winning team will be announced later that evening during the closed ºÚÁϸ£ÀûÍø Contest Finalist Selection Event award ceremony.
ABOUT THE TU/E CONTEST
The ºÚÁϸ£ÀûÍø Contest offers engineering students an annual competition and platform to transform innovative ideas - related to grand societal challenges - into viable concepts that can make a real impact.
Over five months, student teams work on their concepts in co-creation with a diverse network of experts from education, business, and society. Through an extra-curricular program of workshops, brainstorm sessions, and networking events, they develop entrepreneurial competencies and prepare to become engineers of the future.
The ºÚÁϸ£ÀûÍø Contest is an initiative of ºÚÁϸ£ÀûÍø innovation Space, supported by ºÚÁϸ£ÀûÍø Knowledge Transfer Office. The 12th edition takes place from February to June, 2026. With over 190 registered participants across 69 teams, this edition marks the highest number of participants since the program started.
