The housing lottery

Who can participate?

You are included in the housing lottery if you:

  • Are admitted to a ºÚÁϸ£ÀûÍø Master’s program starting in September 2026 (including double degree programmas offered in collaboration with international universities)
  • Are moving to the Netherlands for the first time
  • Currently live outside the Netherlands
  • Have conditional or unconditional admission acceptance

Additional requirement for non-EEA students:

  • You submitted your Visa and Residence Permit Details Form before June 1, 2026.
  • Have conditional or unconditional admission acceptance and have paid the required fees (as applicable to your situation) before June 1, 2026.

If you do not meet all of these conditions, you will not be included in the lottery.

How does it work?

  • If you meet the requirements, you are automatically included in the lottery
  • You do not need to apply separately
  • You will receive your result by email before June 12, 2026

If you are selected

If you are selected, you will have the opportunity to book a room.

  • You will receive a booking link by email
  • This is a one-time opportunity, so act quickly
  • Rooms are booked on a first-come, first-served basis

Housing offers:

  • Vestide rooms: You will get an account to access Vestide’s private platform. A room will always be available for you.
  • Other providers (Holland2Stay, The Social Hub, Xior and Plaza Resident Services): You will get a link to their private platform. Rooms are reserved for ºÚÁϸ£ÀûÍø international students but are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

Important to know:

  • The same rooms may be available to multiple students - whoever books first gets the room
  • You cannot choose a specific room, housing provider, or price range
  • The number of available rooms is limited, so booking is not guaranteed

What kind of housing is offered?

  • Student rooms (shared facilities) and studios (private kitchen and bathroom)
  • Rent is typically €500–€1200 per month, excluding utilities (gas, water, electricity) and service costs
  • Most housing is off-campus
  • Housing contracts, type, and duration vary by provider. Detailed information will be provided when you receive an offer

If you are not selected

  • You will be placed on a waitlist
  • If rooms become available, you may still receive an offer between July and early August

Do not rely on this as your only option — start your housing search early and explore other possibilities alongside the lottery.
