Why this program?

Integrated photonics is the incumbent technology for high-speed fibre communications and rapidly becoming a key enabling technology for sensing solutions, medical diagnostics, and advanced manufacturing. As chips manufacturing capabilities mature, companies across industries face an important strategic question: How and when should we adopt integrated photonics to strengthen our products, services, and innovation roadmap?

This module for industry professionals helps technology-driven companies navigate that question. You will gain a clear, accessible overview of the possibilities for integrated photonics in your own organization.

Designed and taught by experts from Eindhoven University of Technology (黑料福利网) and industry partners, the module combines technical capabilities with real-world applications. You will also be introduced to the widely recognized Eindhoven photonics ecosystem, among Europe鈥檚 strongest innovation clusters in this field.

What you will learn

After completing this module, you will:

  • Be introduced to the fundamentals, platforms and some of the capabilities, while learning and recognizing the work terminology and the jargon to discuss innovations in integrated photonics.
  • Be able to map critical functional specifications to capabilities for application areas such as telecom/datacom, healthcare, LiDAR, industrial sensing, and agrifood.
  • Develop first insights into opportunities as well as limits of photonic integrated circuits (PICs) for your company.
  • Network within the Dutch photonics ecosystem, including key players such as PhotonDelta, JePPIX and more will follow.
  • Collaborate on a challenge-based assignment, translating your new knowledge to a real-world organizational context.

The module target is to prepare managers and technical leaders to make informed decisions about adoption, investment, and collaboration within the Dutch integrated photonics landscape. No prior knowledge of photonics is needed but a technical/scientific background is necessary.
