ACADEMIC BACKGROUND

Ye received his bachelor鈥檚 degree in metallurgy in 2007 from Harbin Institute of Technology and master鈥檚 degree in materials science in 2009 from Queen Mary University of London. He obtained PhD in mechanical engineering from Eindhoven University of Technology in 2016 on the topic of artificial cilia.

Before starting PhD, Ye worked at Ningbo Institute of Materials Technology and Engineering (part of the Chinese Academy of Sciences) as a research engineer on the topic of inkjet printing for flexible electronics. In 2017, he joined Oc茅 Technologies (now Canon Production Printing) and worked on the printhead development. Next to the main job at Oc茅, he worked as a part-time postdoc in the Microsystems section at 黑料福利网 on the development of a Heart-on-Chip platform.

Ye's research focuses on the investigation and development of microscopic actuators and sensors as integrated microfluidic components. The application focus is on embedded microfluidic pumps and mixers for medical diagnostics, as well as high-throughput organ-on-chip platforms.
