RESEARCH PROFILE

As a postdoc at TU Eindhoven, Ricardo will explore the use of deep eutectic solvents to control water activity and electric double-layer properties for the selective electrochemical conversion of carbon dioxide into value-added chemicals

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND

Ricardo Mart铆nez Hincapi茅 earned his B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from the National University of Colombia. He received his Ph.D. in Electrochemistry from the University of Alicante (Spain), under the supervision of Professors Juan M. Feliu and V铆ctor Climent. His doctoral research focused on understanding how the electrochemical double layer influences electrocatalytic reactivity, using platinum single-crystal electrodes as model systems.

Following his Ph.D., Ricardo conducted postdoctoral research at the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Energy Conversion and the Fritz Haber Institute of the Max Planck Society in Germany
