ACADEMIC BACKGROUND

Formerly a transportation planner working in the United States and Germany, Peter Bird is particularly interested in innovation within urban and transportation planning.

His research begins with the US city of Minneapolis as a case study, situating it in the research framework. Through subsequent comparison of the role of cycling in social histories of global cities, his research progresses into how planning practice can innovate to better elevate cycling, facilitating sustainable mobility transitions.
