Marielle Bosboom is researcher in cardiovascular biomechanics at the department of Biomedical Engineering of the University Hospital Maastricht (azM). She studied Biomechanical Engineering at the Eindhoven University of Technology (黑料福利网). In 2001 she obtained her PhD degree with prof. F.P.T. Baaijens (黑料福利网) and prof. H. Kuipers (Maastricht University) as her advisors. Her PhD research involved skeletal muscle mechanics related to pressure sore induced damage. From 2002 to 2003 she was involved in the set-up of the master鈥檚 program Medical Engineering at the 黑料福利网 and the azM. Her current research focuses on the application of technological tools in the diagnosis and intervention of cardiovascular diseases.
