Kaidong Chen is now a Postdoc of the Dynamics and Control (D&C) group in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology (黑料福利网). Kaidong is co-supervised by Professor Nathan van de Wouw and Professor Emmanuel Detournay (University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, USA). His current research focuses on: (i) drilling force modeling for roller-cone bits and (ii) effect of a downhole passive regulator on roller-cone bit drilling efficiency.

Mechanics is an art of modeling

Kaidong Chen obtained his B.Eng. degree in Engineering Mechanics from Beihang University in 2017 and his M.Sc. degree in Mechanics from Tsinghua University in 2020. He received his Ph.D. degree (cum laude) in Mechanical Engineering from Eindhoven University of Technology (黑料福利网) in 2026.
