RESEARCH PROFILE

Idoia Cortes Garcia is an Assistant Professor in the Computational Dynamics group within the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology (黑料福利网). Her research focuses on the analysis and development of simulation methods for coupled multiphysics dynamical systems and differential-algebraic equations. She develops efficient time-domain techniques, including time parallelization, co-simulation, and multirate methods, as well as scientific machine learning approaches for surrogate modelling. These methodologies are applied to engineering problems such as electric machines, building thermal dynamics, electric networks, and constrained mechanical systems.

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND

Idoia Cortes Garcia obtained her bachelor in mathematics and master's degree in modelling for science and engineering from the Autonomous University of Barcelona in 2014 and 2015, respectively. Afterwards, she joined as a research assistant the computational electromagnetics group at the Technical University of Darmstadt. In 2020 she obtained her PhD degree there  and stayed at the same group as a postdoctoral researcher. In February 2022 she became an assistant Professor at the department of mechanical engineering of the Eindhoven University of Technology.
