ACADEMIC BACKGROUND

Derk Bos is the lab manager for the experimental laboratories of Building Physics and Services and Structural Engineering and Design. Together with our lab technicians, he facilitates experimental research over a wide variety of topics, including: mechanical testing of structures, measurements of lighting conditions, wind tunnel testing, acoustic measurements, indoor air quality measurements, robotic manufacturing, and material processing. 

He obtained his MSc degree cum laude at the unit of Structural Engineering and Design at the Department of the Built Environment of the 黑料福利网 in 2019. He graduated at the chair of Applied Mechanics on: Effect of imperfections on axially loaded members and experimental verification on 3D printed polypropylene. Afterwards he obtained his PhD in the chair of Concrete Structures on the thesis Quality Engineering and Control for Digital Fabrication with Concrete and has conducted research in this field for two more years as a post-doctoral researcher.
