RESEARCH PROFILE
Bruna Goveia da Rocha is an assistant professor at the Department of Industrial Design of the Eindhoven University of Technology. Her work aims to advance research-through-making by exploring samples and sample making as well as the cross-pollination between techniques for textile innovation in the context of Digital Craftsmanship.
Emergence and uncertainty are inherent to design practice. To leverage these as design resources, we must devise strategies for staying in the thick of making while getting comfortable with the idea that not knowing where we are headed is not the same as being aimless. Rather, acknowledging that we are here, right now in a design process allows us to chart our way to places we could not imagine otherwise. In other words, it is the only way to truly innovate.
ACADEMIC BACKGROUND
