RESEARCH PROFILE

Bhagyashree Sailwal is a doctoral candidate at the Eindhoven School of Education, Eindhoven University of Technology. She holds a bachelor's degree in Computer Science Engineering from the Maharashtra Institute of Technology, India, a master鈥檚 degree in Information Systems from Linnaeus University, Sweden, and a postgraduate diploma in International Education.

Before starting her doctoral research, Bhagyashree worked for several years in the IT industry before transitioning to education, where she spent seven years teaching mathematics and programming in both online learning environments and secondary education.

Bhagyashree started her PhD in September 2024. Her research focuses on facilitating student transitions from secondary to higher education within challenge-based learning environments. Specifically, she examines the characteristics of challenge-based learning across secondary and higher STEM education, how these practices are enacted in classrooms from teacher and student perspectives, and what continuities and discontinuities emerge as students transition between these educational contexts. Through this work, she aims to contribute to a better understanding of how learning environments can be designed to support students navigating the transition between educational levels.
