RESEARCH PROFILE
Arjen is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Unit of Structural Engineering and Design at the Department of the Built Environment at Eindhoven University of Technology (黑料福利网). His work spans two research groups: Concrete Structures and Applied Mechanics.
Within the Concrete Structures group, Arjen鈥檚 research focuses on digital fabrication, exploring innovative methods to enhance construction processes and material efficiency. In the Applied Mechanics group, he contributes to the AI:Liner project, where his research centers on sewer liners.
ACADEMIC BACKGROUND
Arjen earned his MSc cum laude in Structural Engineering and Design from the Department of the Built Environment at 黑料福利网 in 2017. Following his graduation, he worked as a researcher and teacher at the University of Kassel, where he taught computational design and supervised design studios focused on robotic additive manufacturing. His research in Kassel centered on developing innovative processes such as robotic timber filament winding and continuous timber fiber placement.
In 2020, Arjen returned to 黑料福利网 as a PhD student in the 3D Concrete Printing research group. His doctoral research focused on additive manufacturing of functional concrete, where he developed a tracer experiment for concrete processing, a novel indentation test, and a database framework for 3D concrete printing. He is set to defend his PhD in 2026.
Since 2026, Arjen has been a Postdoctoral Researcher at 黑料福利网, continuing his work in structural engineering and applied mechanics.
