Anke van Oosterhout
RESEARCH PROFILE
Anke van Oosterhout is an Assistant Professor in the Interactive Matters cluster. She is interested in mediating interactions between humans and intelligent systems through haptics and shape change. Her research also addresses the development of tools to support the design of force feedback and motion in user interfaces. After her PhD, she returned to Eindhoven, where she is currently working on force feedback and shape change in kinematic and intelligent systems with multiple degrees-of-freedom and exploring opportunities for active materials to advance interactive qualities of haptic and shape changing interfaces.
ACADEMIC BACKGROUND
She received her MSc (cum laude) from Industrial Design at TU Eindhoven. Her PhD in Computer Science at Aarhus University focused on the relationship between haptic force feedback and shape change on a fundamental level.
