Research Profile

We develop models and tools to design and evaluate communication networks for critical systems.

The lab focuses on the analysis, design, and optimization of future communication networks for safety‑critical and high‑performance applications. Our research transfers formal models into practical implementation to enable reliable, efficient, and adaptive networked systems of the future.

We work on future communication technologies such as Time‑Sensitive Networking, Beyond‑5G, and Ultra Ethernet, with applications in next‑generation cyber‑physical systems – connected vehicles, smart factories, and large‑scale AI infrastructures. We address Quality of Service objectives, such as real‑time latency guarantees and optimized throughput and resource utilization, e.g., through methods like Network Calculus, queuing theory, and simulation.

By combining formal models and applying these to real hardware and testbeds, we design new protocols and resource management architectures as deployable solutions that are ready for real‑world environments.
