WellData (Dataruimte voor Preventie)
Looptijd
February 2024 - February 2027Project manager
Healthcare in Flanders and the Netherlands is under pressure due to an aging population and a growing number of people living with chronic conditions. WellData (Data Space for Prevention) is a cross border European project that, with support from the European Union, explores how lifestyle and wellbeing data can be used more effectively to strengthen preventive healthcare.Over the past few years, WellData has examined key preconditions for the responsible use of lifestyle and wellbeing data in preventive healthcare. The focus was on three domains: technical interoperability and secure data exchange, a standardized set of health indicators to measure health in a uniform way, and an ethical, legal and social framework for the use of such data. These insights form the basis for the further development of a personal data space for health data. The WellData platform serves as a proof of concept, demonstrating how citizens can manage and share their health data.To better understand the technology and approach in practice, pilot studies are being prepared in several regions in Flanders and the Netherlands. In these so called field labs, citizens, researchers and healthcare organizations work together to explore the WellData platform and its potential applications. The focus is on how lifestyle and wellbeing data can be used in a meaningful and responsible way for preventive healthcare. In addition, WellData continuously builds a learning network in which organizations from healthcare, policy, research and industry share knowledge and experiences related to data driven prevention and the future European Health Data Space (EHDS).WellData (Data Space for Prevention) is an Interreg Flanders Netherlands project. Eindhoven University of Technology, specifically the IS group within IE&IS, is a proud partner in the WellData project, together with VITO, Domus Medica vzw, Zorgzaam Leuven, NSX Normalized Systems, Selfcare BV, Sport Vlaanderen, Care Innovation Center West Brabant, Nuts, Eindhoven University of Technology, LiCalab Living and Care Lab, TNO, VAN | Flemish Pharmacists Network, Avans University of Applied Science and Gezondheidshuis PIOEN Local Authority Vorselaar.
