Collaboration in High-Tech Supply Chain

CollChain improves supply chains using digital twins for better collaboration.

The CollChain project studies how digital twins (simulation models) of communicating processes in a supply chain can be mined from organizational data. Subsequently, these digital twins are used to model and evaluate collaborations in a supply chain.

The project as a whole aims to develop collaboration models for high-tech supply chains. Such models are essential to enable effective collaboration between supply chain partners to ensure the continued supply of materials needed for production. The collaboration models will be operationalized in terms of best practices that describe which information is exchanged, how joint decisions are taken, and how benefits are shared between partners. Finally, data-driven methods will be developed for analyzing the effectiveness of collaborations in the supply chain and making suggestions for improvement. By doing so, the project enables high-tech supply chains to rapidly scale supply in accordance with production demand, while being robust to disruptive events. In that way it ensures continuity of product development in high-tech supply chains and thus contributes to the competitiveness of the Dutch high-tech industry.
