Digital technology improves treatment for Parkinson's patients
At MedTech Day 2025 – NeuroConnect, multiple innovators took the stage.
Among which:
- (Koios Care), as both a Parkinson’s patient and industry expert, uses smartwatches and smartphones to track Parkinson’s symptoms, turning data into AI-driven, personalised treatment.
- (Strolll) develops augmented reality training games that boost balance and mobility—making therapy effective and fun.
Neuromodulation Strategies for Intractable Migraine: A New Frontier
Daniel Schobben is one of the founders of Salvia BioElectronics (2017) and is passionately committed to restoring hope, health, and happiness for people with chronic migraine and chronic cluster headache. At Salvia, he drives innovation by translating stakeholder needs to pragmatic product concepts.
Prior to founding Salvia, he has taken on roles in product management, M&A due diligence, innovation management, and interim leadership. He has coordinated venture portfolios and founded, chaired, and advised companies, with a particular focus on medical devices over the past decade. He started his career at Philips, where over 200 patents were filed based on his work. Daniel holds MSc and PhD degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Eindhoven University of Technology.
A Mathematical Compass for Neuronavigation & Precision Brain Surgery
In this joint presentation, Prof. (TU Eindhoven) and Prof. (ETZ Neurosurgery; TU Eindhoven) explore how mathematical modeling has advanced the field of neurosurgical tractography—a technique that reconstructs white matter pathways in the brain based on diffusion MRI data. Through a dialogue format, they reflect on a decade of interdisciplinary collaboration that led to the development of a novel prototype tool. This tool enables automatic computation and visualisation of these critical brain connections, supporting safer, personalised brain tumor surgery. The talk bridges theoretical models from mathematics and physics and real-world clinical applications, emphasising both the clinical potential of tractography and the value of dialogue between disciplines.
Quote Geert-Jan Rutten:
Science doesn't like outliers, as clinicians we see them daily, so we need to keep learning from outliers.
Poster Competition - 4TU.Health
Organised by
MedTech Day 2025 NeuroConnect highlighted the impressive work of early career researchers through its Poster Competition. Graduate students, doctoral candidates and postdoctoral researchers from the four Universities of Technology shared original advances in neurology and neurotechnology. An expert jury reviewed all abstracts with care, and attendees added their own perspectives through the audience vote. We are delighted to announce the two award recipients.
1. Best Poster Award, chosen by the jury, was for (on picture:on his behalf -supervisor Geert-Jan Rutten (ETZ))
2. Audience Choice Award, chosen by our engaged community, was for
Each winner has received a voucher for a custom scientific illustration from , a valuable resource that helps researchers present complex ideas with clarity and impact across publications, presentations and public outreach.
Program - speakers - poster presenters
In this handout, you will find an overview of all invited speakers and poster presenters, providing a comprehensive guide to the sessions and research contributions that shape this year’s programme. During the symposium, it served as a useful guide throughout the event and supported the engagement with the inspiring ideas and discussions that define the domain of Neurology.
