TeraIBs
The TeraIB project is funded by the EU Marie-Curie Doctoral Training Network and coordinated by Shihab Al-Daffaie from the Integrated Circuits group of the Department of Electrical Engineering. This project proposes solutions for biomedical applications using terahertz technology over the next 4 years starting from the 1st of January 2025.
TeraIBs stands for Terahertz Integrated Biosensing from molecular, vesicular to the cellular and tissue level. This project aims to develop a radically new technology based on THz radiation for biomedical detection and diagnosis, based on a team of 11 Doctoral Candidates (DCs) with the necessary in-depth background in devices and systems, spectroscopic techniques, and biomedical measurement knowledge using THz radiation.
We do this together with 8 partners and 6 associated partners, all from Europe. The TeraIBs partners are Goethe University Frankfurt (Germany), Universit盲t Siegen (Germany), Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (Spain), Vilniaus universitetas / Vilnius University (Lithuania), Unitelma Sapienza (Italy), Universit脿 Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (Italy), CNRS (France), Department Artificial Intelligence in Biomedical Engineering - AIBE@FAU (Germany).
