The Casimir Institute catalyzes innovation across disciplines by bringing together 700 researchers under one roof and delivering tangible solutions for a sustainable digital information society. We accelerate the transition from research to real-world impact by enabling sustainable chips and high-tech systems that power society while using less energy, fewer materials and intelligent design and integration.

Why is this needed

Digitalization, electrification and automation are driving unprecedented demand for computing and high-tech equipment. At the same time, society faces urgent challenges related to climate impact, resource scarcity and increasing system complexity. Chips and high-tech systems must deliver more performance, more functionality and more intelligence, while dramatically reducing energy use and material footprint. For us, sustainability is therefore a guiding principle for innovation.
