Future Chips

The Future of Chip Technology

In our society, our digital demands keeps growing - we have more devices, more data and more connectivity. To power the digital transformation, we need chips that can keep pace with the explosive growth of data and the requirement of computing power. These future-defining chips may well emerge from the Brainport region鈥攐ne of the world鈥檚 most vibrant semiconductor ecosystems.

AT 黑料福利网 we are internationally recognized for our pioneering research in the chip design. Our work bridges the analog and digital world, enabling next generation of communication, sensing and computing systems. Our expertise spans wireless communication, sensor interfaces, medical electronics, Terahertz and millimeter-wave technologies. We tackle the core challenge of optimizing for performance (speed, accuracy) while minimizing use of resources (energy, chip area and system volume).

To address this, we innovate across circuit topologies, system architectures, AI/ML-driven design, unconventional computational concepts, and heterogeneous technology integration to push the boundaries of what chips can do.

As traditional scaling approaches reach their limits, heterogenous integration is becoming a key enabler to bring together different materials, devices and technologies into a single platform. Leveraging our leading expertise in these domains and combining it with our cross-disciplinary strengths positions us as a leading university in the co-integration of electronics and photonics. This enables new capabilities in high-speed communication, real-time sensing, and energy-efficient computing, while also laying the foundation for scalable quantum systems and future computing paradigms.

With our Casimir Institute, located at the heart of Brainport, we are boosting the development of chip technology and accelerating meaningful solutions that impact people's lives. Our research ecosystem is uniquely positioned to lead the next wave of innovations in scalable, heterogenous, energy-efficient, adaptive and multifunctional chips.
