New PhD student Lisa Verdellen
In January 2026, Lisa Verdellen joined the Electrochemical Materials and Systems group at 黑料福利网 as a doctoral researcher in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Chemistry at 黑料福利网.
Lisa obtained both a BSc degree in Chemistry and a MSc degree in Molecular Chemistry from Radboud University, with a focus on classical chemistry, molecular design, and structure鈥損roperty relationships. During her bachelor鈥檚 thesis, she developed a conductive polymeric hydrogel scaffold for muscular tissue engineering applications. In her master鈥檚 thesis, she developed a dual-activated fluorogenic probe for the quantification low concentrations of azide in biologically relevant environments. In addition, during an internship at Canon Production Printing, she investigated the influence of additives on molecular interactions and crystallization in UV-curable inks.
Driven by her passion for translating molecular level design into practical and sustainable solutions, Lisa will work on the development of novel polymers and coatings for low-temperature hydrogen fuel cells.
