Yi-Ru Wins Best Innovation Award at CoSI 2026
At the 2026 Coatings Science International (CoSI) Conference in Noordwijk, Yi-Ru Chen was awarded the Best Innovation Award for his research on a recyclable 1,3,5-triazine-based thermoset and coating.
His work focuses on the design of a cleavable polymer network using a dynamic SNAr reaction, enabling recyclability while maintaining the performance expected from thermoset materials. The research also demonstrates the potential of debonding-on-demand coatings, offering promising solutions for more sustainable and circular material systems. The award recognizes both the scientific novelty of the work and its potential impact on advancing sustainable coating technologies.
CoSI 2026 brought together more than 75 researchers from academia and industry to discuss key topics including sustainability, circular economy, bio-based materials, PFAS-free technologies, digitalization, and artificial intelligence.
