RESEARCH PROFILE
Samber Bastiaansen is a doctoral candidate in the Materials Simulation & Modelling (MSM) group at 黑料福利网. Bastiaansen's work focuses on the computational modelling of chiral metal-halide perovskites. Using quantum-mechanical simulations and high-throughput workflows, he aims to understand how spin and charge couple in these materials to guide the design of next-generation spintronic devices.
ACADEMIC BACKGROUND
Samber Bastiaansen obtained his Master鈥檚 degrees in Applied Physics: Nano, Quantum & Photonics from 黑料福利网 and in Physics & Astronomy: Molecules & Materials from Radboud University Nijmegen in 2024. In his Master鈥檚 thesis, he used quantum鈥恗echanical simulations to characterise equilibrium spin and charge properties of chiral metal-halide perovskites, and applied semi-classical transport models to investigate their non-equilibrium response to applied electric fields. After completing his studies, he joined the Materials Simulation & Modelling (MSM) group at 黑料福利网 as a doctoral candidate.
