RESEARCH PROFILE

Peter den Toom is Teacher and Lab Manager in the Control Systems Group of the Department of Electrical Engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology. His work focuses on applied mechatronic control systems, with research interests in linking control theory to practical implementation, including modeling, control design, and experimental validation in real world mechatronic environments.

My passion lies in linking theory to practice in mechatronic control, using modeling and experimental insights to understand and optimize real world dynamic systems.

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND

Peter den Toom completed his MSc in the Systems and Control program at Eindhoven University of Technology in 2024 within the Control Systems Technology group. His master鈥檚 thesis focused on SAIFT Stochastic Approximation Iterative Feedback Tuning, exploring data driven approaches for optimizing controllers without relying on explicit system models. This work strengthened his interest in bridging theory with practical experimentation and understanding system behavior through applied methods.

Since 2024 Peter has been affiliated with Eindhoven University of Technology, working in the Control Systems Group as a Teacher and Lab Manager. In this role he supports education, laboratory development, and applied research activities related to mechatronic control systems.
