Olav Bunte is a university teacher at the Interconnected Resource-Aware Intelligent Systems (IRIS) cluster in the Mathematics and Computer Science Department at the Eindhoven University of Technology (黑料福利网). While education is currently his main concern, his research interests lie in the formalisation of behaviour and the subsequent proving of properties over this behaviour, as illustrated by the work during his PhD.

As a teacher, Olav is mainly interested in two things:

• Enabling students to find their own passion in academia, by designing assignments with hands-on practical experience and/or with freedom for students to choose their own direction, and
• Providing students with well-organised quality education, by continually reflecting on the execution and organisation of courses and the program as a whole, as well as coordinating them.

The latter is exemplified in Olav's appointment as track lead for the Systems and Artificial Intelligence Master track as part of the Computer Science and Engineering Master program since 2026.

Learning is not an efficient process

Olav completed his Bachelor, Master and PhD in Computer Science in 2015, 2017 and 2024 respectively at the Eindhoven University of Technology. His PhD was done under the VOICE-B project in collaboration with Canon Production Printing, as part of the Formal System Analysis (FSA) cluster. Since 2023, Olav has been working at IRIS as a university teacher, where he is involved in the teaching, design, organisation and assessment of many courses.
