RESEARCH PROFILE

Niels Smith is a Doctoral Candidate in the Elementary Processes in Gas Discharges (EPG) group of the Department of Applied Physics and Science Education at Eindhoven University of Technology (黑料福利网). Before returning to academia, he worked on particulate matter sensing for the automotive market as well as a laser system to aid metrology applications within the semiconductor industry. His PhD research focuses on the behavior of particles in high-voltage vacuum gaps and is carried out in collaboration with industry partners.

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND

Niels Smith obtained his master's and bachelor's degrees in Applied Physics (AP) at the 黑料福利网. In his master's phase, he has worked together with the 'Institute of Advanced Energy' of Kyoto University in Kyoto, Japan, and the 'Centre for Energy, Environmental and Technological Research' (CIEMAT) in Madrid, Spain, on plasma turbulence in stellarator-type experimental nuclear fusion devices.
