Nadia works on understanding, designing and creating phase separating systems. Phase separation is crucial in the functioning of cells, important for the onset of (neurodegenerative) disease and has high potential in biotechnology applications. Collaboration is very important to Nadia.

Nadia has a background working on microfluidic technology, self-assembly and complex chemical systems. She obtained her PhD in chemistry under the mentorship of prof. Tuomas Knowles at the University of Cambridge. During her PhD, she also received supervision of prof. Rohit Pappu (Washington St. Louis), prof. Dave Weitz (Harvard) and prof. Peter St. George-Hyslop (Cambridge). Before her PhD, Nadia worked under the supervision of prof. Wilhelm Huck (Radboud), prof. Jack Szostack (Harvard) and prof. George Whitesides (Harvard).
