RESEARCH PROFILE
Juliette van Haren is an Assistant Professor and design researcher in the field of Industrial Design. Her research aims to advance human and planetary health through design. Current research focus is on Woman, Mother & Child care, and includes the development of perinatal life support technologies (artificial womb and placenta technology) and environmental health. Juliette uses research-through-design, value-sensitive design, speculative design, (bio)fabrication and physical-digital simulation methods.
ACADEMIC BACKGROUND
Juliette van Haren received an M.Sc. degree in Neurosciences from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (the Netherlands), and an MFA in Industrial Design from Parsons School of Design (NYC, USA). She received her Ph.D. degree in the Department of Industrial Design at the Eindhoven University of Technology.
