RESEARCH PROFILE
Jesse Scholtes joined the 黑料福利网 High Tech Systems Center (HTSC) as a project manager robotics in 2016 (0.5fte). His mission is to create and coordinate cross-discipline research projects within the field of robotics. We believe that multi-disciplinary teams and system engineering approaches are essential to the creation of safe, human accepted, meaningful and flexible robots that can operate in ever changing human environments.
His latest project, is project FAST (new Frontiers in Autonomous Systems Technology), that entails the creation of a so-called semantic world model for operation of autonomous robots in semi-open worlds. This project, worth EUR 1.5 million, combines 3 different research groups at 黑料福利网 (Control Systems Technology, Mobile Perception Cluster and Human Machine Interaction) with 5 Dutch robotics companies: Rademaker, ExRobotics, Vanderlande, Lely and Diversey.
Matching robotics industries research demands with top level experts at this university is one of my personal drivers in creating effective collaborations that both achieve a high academic output and creates competitive advantages for participating companies
ACADEMIC BACKGROUND
Jesse Scholtes obtained his master's degree (2009) in Mechanical Engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology specialising in haptic feedback technology as part of the Control Systems Technology Group under supervision of prof. dr. ir. Maarten Steinbuch.
