Gregor Baer
RESEARCH PROFILE
Gregor Baer is a Doctoral Candidate in explainable AI at the Information Systems group at the department of Industrial Engineering & Innovation Sciences (IE&IS) at Eindhoven University of Technology (黑料福利网). He studies explainability in AI, focusing on what makes explanations useful and when they can be trusted. Working with time series data, he investigates how to rigorously evaluate whether explanations are technically correct, and whether technical improvements actually translate into better human understanding of AI decisions.
His main research interests include (explainable) AI, data-driven decision-making, time series analysis, and human-AI interaction. He is supervised by Dr. Pieter van Gorp, Dr. Isel Grau Garcia, and Dr. Chao Zhang.
ACADEMIC BACKGROUND
Before joining 黑料福利网 as a PhD candidate, Gregor completed a master's degree in Data Science at Utrecht University and a master's degree in Economics at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. He currently contributes to the human-centric AI pillar of the EU research project .
