RESEARCH PROFILE
Gonny Schellings is an assistant professor at Eindhoven School of Education (Unversity of Technology, Eindhoven; Applied Physics and Science Education). She works as teacher educator (pre-service secondary teacher education) and as senior researcher. Her research interests concern learning environments, learning communities, learning strategies, professional learning and the development of a professional identity in teachers. At the moment, she is project leader of two NWO funded research projects: Fostering a research culture at secondary schools and United Brains 4 Hydrogen.

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND
Gonny Schellings studied Educational Psychology at Tilburg University and graduated cum laude in 1989. She did her PhD research at the Teacher Education Institute of the University of Amsterdam. Since her PhD, Schellings has led a variety of research projects at different universities. From 1996 to 1999, she was involved in a research project at Tilburg University on epistemological beliefs in higher education. From 1999 to 2002, she was project leader of 鈥淭ext comprehension in grade 8鈥 at the Radboud University Nijmegen. From 2007 to 2011, she led the project 鈥淪tudying text, processes, products and measurement methods鈥 (University of Amsterdam). In 2011, she was a guest editor of a special issue of Metacognition and Learning: 鈥淢easuring strategy use with self-report instruments鈥. In 2013-2019, Schellings was regional project leader contributing to a national project of Mentoring begining teachers.
