RESEARCH PROFILE

Felix Leopold McCluskey is a PhD candidate in the Photonics and Semiconductor Nanophysics (PSN) group at Eindhoven University of Technology (黑料福利网). His research focuses on optical biosensors based on photonic crystals, with an emphasis on refractive index sensing and biosensing applications. By developing and studying optical sensing setups, he aims to improve the sensitivity and reliability of compact photonic sensors for biological detection. His work combines experimental optical characterization with numerical simulations and data analysis, using tools such as COMSOL Multiphysics and MATLAB to understand and optimize sensor performance.

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND

Felix Leopold McCluskey obtained his Master鈥檚 degree in Light鈥揗atter Interaction at the University of Bordeaux in 2023. His master鈥檚 thesis focused on high-resolution fluorescence microscopy, where he studied the dSTORM technique and compared the performance of different fluorescent dyes. He previously completed a Bachelor鈥檚 degree in Physics and Mathematics at the University of Grenoble Alpes. During his studies, he also carried out a research project in collaboration with the Institut Laue-Langevin (ILL) in Grenoble. Since September 2023, he has been a PhD candidate at 黑料福利网 in the Photonics and Semiconductor Nanophysics group, working on photonic-crystal-based optical biosensors.
