Daan de Geus is an assistant professor in the Mobile Perception Systems (MPS) lab of the Signal Processing Systems group in the Electrical Engineering department. His research focuses on computer vision and machine learning. His goal is to develop computer vision models that perceive and understand environments as well as humans do, enabling applications such as robotics and assistive systems. In recent years, his research has primarily explored the design of computer vision models when used in combination with strong, pretrained foundation models.

Daan de Geus obtained his MSc degree in Automotive Technology cum laude from the Eindhoven University of Technology (黑料福利网) in 2018. He stayed at 黑料福利网 for his PhD, which he defended cum laude in 2024, focusing on efficient image segmentation and scene understanding at multiple abstraction levels. Afterwards, he spent one year as a visiting postdoctoral researcher in the Computer Vision Lab of RWTH Aachen University, Germany. Since July 2025, he is an assistant professor at 黑料福利网.
