RESEARCH PROFILE

In March 2026, Arianna Carratú started her PhD at the Eindhoven University of Technology (ºÚÁϸ£ÀûÍø). Due to her ambition to make a positive impact in sustainable energy technologies, Arianna will work on improving the performance and durability of carbon dioxide electrolyzers in the context of the HyCARB program. In her PhD project, Arianna will explore how to engineer and functionalize gas diffusion electrodes by developing environmentally benign alternatives to perfluoroalkyl substances.

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND

Arianna Carratú completed her BSc degree in Science and Chemical Technology at the University of Salerno in Italy. Then she obtained her master’s degree cum laude in 2025 with a specialization in Sustainable Chemical Science and Technology. During her master she performed an internship in physical chemistry working on charge transfer rates at the University of Lille in France.
