Surface Photonics
We investigate light-matter interaction on structured surfaces in a broad range of frequencies and in the time domain, from the visible to THz and from sub-picoseconds to several nanoseconds.
Research Profile
We investigate light-matter interaction on structured surfaces in a broad range of frequencies and in the time domain, from the visible to THz and from sub-picoseconds to several nanoseconds. This interaction is enhanced by resonant structures, like metallic and dielectric nanoparticles or more complex resonators. Strong light-matter coupling leads to new fundamental phenomena , such as such as enhanced exciton transport, long-range energy transfer, or quantum condensation, that can be exploited to tailor material properties: We shape the properties of matter with light.
