Lightning Observation and Physics
By integrating advanced sensing technologies with space- and ground-based observations, we aim to uncover the underlying physics of lightning and enhance severe weather monitoring in a changing climate.
Unraveling the mysteries of atmospheric and space electricity from nature.
Our research team studies atmospheric and space electricity, including lightning discharges, transient luminous events (TLEs), and related phenomena. We develop new algorithms and technologies to improve the accuracy of lightning detection systems, with a particular focus on combing optical and radio-frequency sensing.
