Advanced Photonic Solutions lab

The APS lab focuses on the development of new technologies and the application of existing technologies to provide advanced photonic solutions for multiple challenges.

Research Profile

On the application side we experiment with the use of light for sensing, the precies control of light in free space for OWC and Lidars and the use of compact light sources for the creation of scalable quantum computers.

Projects

  • Scalable cold atom quantum computers (use NWO abstract)
  • Fiber based pressure sensing
  • Control of light by combining optical phased arrays and scattering media
  • Fabrication of high speed photo detector arrays
  • Non-volatile Reconfigurable PICs using novel materials
  • Silicon bench technology for advanced 2.5/3D packaging of PICs
  • Liquid Crystal Elastomers for OWC beam steering.
