If you have already taken a similar course in the past within Philips (like Privacy Compliance in Human Studies, Information Security in Research, etc.) then you may need to discuss this with your promotor if it is stll necessary to attend this course/workshop yes or no.

Course contents

In this course the following data related topics are discussed:

  1. Research Data Management
  2. Data Management Plans
  3. FAIR data
  4. Data Repositories
  5. How to treat personal data in research
  6. Ethical review in research

Course objective

After this course you will have a good working knowledge on Research Data Management and the GDPR and how to work safely with personal data in research.

In order to get the knowledge and complete the course, please note:

  • The course materials will be provided in the e/MTIC teams environment.
  • Please check the following e/MTIC Teams site: 
  • Check the presentation containing videos on RDM and Privacy topics and the additional materials provided, at your convenience.
  • Complete the assignment and send it to a.aleksovska@tue.nl together with any questions you might have about the content and how it applies to your project.
  • Please schedule yourself a short individual meeting with Angela Aleksovska: a.aleksovska@tue.nl (either online or in person) to go over the assignment and answer any remaining questions.
  • You will receive an email of completion of the 'Data Regulatory course' by Angela Aleksovska.
