B&R Beurs Eindhoven

B&R Beurs Eindhoven is the student investment society of Eindhoven. Our mission is to teach students about investing and the financial world.

About us

B&R Beurs Eindhoven is a student investment society that was founded in 2016 by students from Eindhoven University of Technology. The society鈥檚 main objective is to bring together students with a keen interest in investing and financial related topics. To achieve this goal, the society is open to all Eindhoven students and provides a range of activities, such as courses, guest lectures, company events, leisure activities and weekly social drinks. Through these events, B&R Eindhoven aims to foster a sense of community while also equipping students with the necessary knowledge and skills to navigate the world of finance.

All members of the association can also join or create an Investment Group to participate in the Investment Competition. Each Investment Group has its own identity and is free to establish its own rules and regulations. New B&R-members will be able to join current investment groups or to start new investment groups by themselves, possibly guided by experienced members. Every investment group has at least five members, whereby each investment group will be able to create its own identity. Since an investment group acts as an independent part of the B&R, the investment group is also responsible for its own rules and regulations. For example, each investment group can decide what amount of money will be invested by its members. Afterwards, the profit made by an investment group can be fully divided to its members. Furthermore, investment groups are allowed to undertake their own activities regarding its identity. Want to know more? Investment competition

The Investment Competition is the core activity of B&R Beurs Eindhoven. On a weekly basis, the return and volatility are calculated through the standard deviation of the weekly returns. At the end of the academic year, the group that has achieved the highest risk-adjusted return wins the competition.

Each Investment Group participating in the competition is independent and follow sits own rules and regulations. Usually, each member in a group invests between 鈧�100 to 鈧�800 and each group is responsible for managing their own funds and making investment decisions. Participating in this competition not only provides an opportunity to learn about investing, but also provides an opportunity to make new friendships!

The groups

The competition usually starts in early November and ends in late June. Members can either join an existing group or create their own investment group with like-minded members. The Investment Competition will provide you with experience and knowledge of investing that you cannot get anywhere else.

Big Bear Capital

We are Big Bear Capital. We enjoy socializing, but are also serious about investing in the stock market. As a group we strive for 1st place in the competition. You will recognize us by our brown Big Bear Capital jersey!

Delta Scope was established back in 2020 when we noticed a gap in the types of investment groups offered in B&R. Our investment philosophy stands on sustainable investing. As a group, we look for futureproof businesses that can withstand the test of time, and also happen to be environmentally conscious.

How to Tie a Tie is all about learning and supporting each other as we aim for the top. We're a bunch of ambitious students who love experimenting with cool strategies to boost our performance. It's about growing together and having fun while we're at it!

LH Investment Group

The LH Investment Group endeavours to grasp the trajectory of evolving world economy. By strategically investing in companies that contribute long-term value, our goal is to discern the driving forces behind current developments and identify technologies pivotal to the future. Our primary objective is to identify companies with long-term technical advantages.

Lucrum

Lucrum is a proactive investment group of curious youths of passionate exploration, focused on semi-automatic trading. Financial growth is our main goal while working on a trading bot, winning the competition, and having a lot of fun.

Plutus Maximus

Plutus Maximus is the most ambitious investing group of the B&R investment association, which is an association of the Eindhoven University of Technology. We network with wealth creating and company defining individuals to make investment decisions.

Academy

The B&R Academy aims to teach our members about the fundamentals of investing. We provide separate courses for members who already understand and master the fundamentals of investing.

The beginner鈥檚 course will take place every week (bi-weekly later on) and will be taught by more experienced members of B&R Beurs Eindhoven. The course starts with the very basics of investing and builds on these throughout the year. On top of that a variety of in-depth academies are given on a wide range of different topics. For example: Bitcoins, Algorithm Trading, Market Making, etc. Once you have an understanding of trading and understand the fundamentals of investing, you can bring this theory into practice with your Investment Group or on your own with private investments. However, trading together in a group is highly recommended, since you can share ideas, information and theories about the financial markets. Furthermore, B&R Beurs considers the group building and its activities as a very important aspect of our society.
