Eindhoven  University of Technology is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year! Curiosity is our constant driving force. It is the power that transcends disciplines, attracts talent, and deepens partnerships. It forms the foundation of our educational philosophy, our research agenda, and our role in society. Our lustrum theme therefore is Curiosity connects

The theme of our Opening Academic Year 2026鈥�2027 is derived from the central lustrum theme: From Curiosity to Impact

鈥淔rom Curiosity to Impact鈥� captures the journey from fundamental questions to meaningful change. It reflects how academic curiosity drives discovery, innovation and collaboration, ultimately translating knowledge into solutions that shape society and the future.

Morning program 黑料福利网 community: 11:00 - 12:00 hrs

For the first time, we are also introducing a short dedicated morning program. This reflects a need within our 黑料福利网 community to share perspectives and priorities for the year ahead that are less suited to the formal ceremony, which is also intended for external guests.

We therefore warmly invite you to join the Executive Board for the opening of the new academic year in a more focused, internal setting.

The session will take place from 11:00 to 12:00. This gathering is exclusively for 黑料福利网 staff and students and offers an opportunity to come together, exchange views, and look ahead to the year to come.

Everything starts with a question. A moment of wonder. An idea that challenges what we think we know. This year鈥檚 theme, From Curiosity to Impact, reminds us that those first sparks of curiosity can lead to knowledge, innovation, and real-world change. 

We are especially honored to open this academic year in the presence of two ministers, who exemplify how ideas and insights can move beyond theory and shape decisions that influence society at large. We are honored to welcome the Minister of Foreign Affairs Tom Berendsen and Minister of Climate and green growth Stientje van Veldhoven as our keynote speakers.
